Wally Endicott, appointed Executive Director of Kids at Hope Regional Center

On August 1, Kids at Hope opened its first Regional Training and Resource Center and will officially recognize this historic moment on September 6 as part of ceremonies associated with the dedication of the Gary and Carol Milgard Family HOPE Center in Lakewood, WA.

Board Chairman Ron Willingham, board treasurer Dr. Ron Richards, board member, Dr. Terry Rosch, Kids at Hope Founder, Rick Miller and Kim Heredia, Executive Director of Administration, will lead a delegation from the National offices of Kids at Hope to the Hope Center festivities.

The Kids at Hope Regional Training and Resource Center was established through a $250,000 grant awarded by the Gary Milgard Family Foundation, the result of the leadership efforts of national board member and past board chairman, Gary Yazwa, President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound.

Long time Kids at Hope advocate Wally Endicott has been appointed Executive Director of the Center. Wally's experience includes the non-profit sector, public education and business. Most importantly, Wally's passion for the belief and practice demonstrating that all children can succeed, NO EXCEPTIONS underscores all his credentials and experience.

Virginia Piper Charitable Trust Supports Maricopa County Hope Square Initiative

The Virginia Piper Charitable Trust has awarded Kids at Hope $72,000 to establish Hope Square communities in West Phoenix and Avondale.

Hope Square is geographical location where all child and youth service providers agree to collaborate around a set of principles and practices designed to ensure that every child in the defined geographical area experience support and success, without exception. "As simple as this sounds is as difficult as it is," commented Shillana Sanchez, Executive Director of Programs. "Too many children still struggle in school, join gangs, take drugs or go through life aimlessly." Kids at Hope and Hope Square believe we can do better if we suspend self-interest for a greater good.
